OF course Natron has their ‘disclainer’ that “they” won’t “sell” their products to individuals and they are NOT UL certified at this time. Right now the burgeoning sodium ion chemistry developed by NorthVolt seems to be in the wind now since NorthVolt filed BK, reorganization and started selling assets. The U.S. has so many new battery chemistries and so many failures to launch. THIS country has done better and needs to get back to basics to do this again. Where is the already established battery chemistry companies in the U.S., the likes of 24M, Sakuu, Lyten, Gotion, LGES, Panasonic, Samsung, QuantumScape with their new battery chemistries and developing manufacturing prowess? Gotion based in California has already announced a LMFP chemistry that is 240Wh/kg at the cell level and it appears Gotion L600 Astroinno has already designed a storage pack that is 79% pack weight cells to ancillaries ratio. That makes a substantial 100kWh battery pack that can be used in a BEV or home BESS unit that is at the pack level, would be right at 1,200 pounds per 100kWh. This is right up there with NMC will be a much less likely chemistry to fail into thermal runaway during any given severe use condition.
